Pursuant to the Lebanese Elections Law number 44 of the year 2017, and in preparation for the parliamentary elections that will take place on April 29, 2018, kindly note the following information:

Delegates on Behalf of Candidates
Any candidate or a list of candidates can appoint delegates on their behalf in assigned polling centers. A delegate can represent more than one list or candidate. Roaming candidates do not apply in our jurisdiction as all our assigned polling centers have less than 4 voting stations (kalam).

Any Lebanese citizen wishing to be a delegate at any specified polling center should:

  • Have her/his name listed on the voter roll of the said canter,
  • Hold a power of attorney from a candidate or a list of candidates drafted by a notary public and legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon.

To assume the role of a delegate at any polling station individuals should apply to our office by April 25, 2018 either in person or via certified mail.

In person:

  1. Complete a delegate form,
  2. Provide a Lebanese id or ikhraj kayd or valid passport and a copy of the said document,
  3. Provide the necessary power of attorney and a copy of the said document.
The Consulate will decide on such applications and grant delegate authorizations at its own discretion, after considering several criteria including the capacity of any polling station and the duration of the requested authorization throughout the election day.

Via certified mail:

At your own risk, and while noting that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours (check our holiday and working hours schedule for more details) and that we don’t collect mail from the post office or the offices of any mailing service, send us via UPS self-addressed & prepaid envelope:

  1. A notarized delegate form,
  2. Copy of you Lebanese id, ikhraj kayd, or valid passport,
  3. The necessary power of attorney and a copy of the said document.

The Consulate will decide on such applications and grant delegate authorizations at its own discretion, after considering several criteria including the capacity of any polling station and the duration of the requested authorization throughout the election day.

If the delegate authorization is a granted, it will be provided in person at the Consulate or delivered only via UPS self-addressed & prepaid envelope at your own risk, and while noting that we only receive mail on working days and during working hours (check our holiday and working hours schedule for more details) and that we don’t collect mail from the post office or the offices of any mailing service.

The Expo is a Universal Exposition that is non-commercial (and therefore not a fair). It is organized by a competing country that wins the bid to host the fair and involves the participation of other nations invited through its diplomatic channels. The first Expo was held in London in 1851, and its success prompted other countries to organize similar events such as the Paris Expo in 1889, memorable for its Eiffel Tower. Each Expo is dedicated to a topic of universal interest. The Expo takes place on a purpose-built site and is an opportunity for participants and visitors to meet and share in a unique experience, as they get to know and experiment with an innovative theme. The role of a Universal Exposition, besides showcasing the most promising new technologies, also looks to interpret the collective challenges that Mankind is facing. The international body that regulates the frequency, quality and performance of the expositions, Le Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), was founded under an international convention, signed in Paris in 1928. Currently over 160 countries are members of the BIE.
